the small transparent cheese slope pieces (official name) to make up the windscreen, a great piece of fine detailing that I’d like to see more of from Lego,.In fact, there are loads of little touches included which really add to the personality of the build, like: Lack of stickers, a major plus, but in turn no lack of detail therein. This isn’t so much a positive as a personal preference, but I do like it so what else can it be classed as other than a good thing? First off, the lovely light green and sand-red colour scheme (I believe those are the official Lego colour names, but I’m not an expert expert) really pops.Lots to be said about this set despite it’s relatively small size and very affordable price point. The Republic Fighter Tank comes with the main build (a tank, what were you expecting?), a Phase 2 clone gunner which, as far as I’ve been led to believe, isn’t actually canon, Jedi Knight Aayla Secura with her blue lightsaber, two battle droids with a blaster pistol each, a wrench and rifle for the clone, and six studs to be shot. I remember saying to her after I’d built it that I was appalled I’d even considered passing it up. But to be honest, I’d just been paid, and the set was rather cheap, so I thought I might as well. As my parents have issued the ultimatum that any more Lego in the house will make them very angry, I was hesitant when me and my girlfriend stood in the Lego section of John Lewis before going to see Dunkirk (review of that here). Because of that, and also because I just fancy tanks in general, especially twenty pound Lego ones (see my Imperial Hovertank review), I’d wanted the Republic Fighter Tank for a while. I think it just adds a gritty quality that I like, for some reason. I bought a few of these tanks to show my support of the return of the Clones, and was glad to see that when I went back to my local store to buy more they were almost sold out, as many are glad of this return as well.I don’t know what it is, but I’ve been a sucker for sci-fi vehicles with aerials and radio antennae on them for as long as I can remember. As fans, we still like Clones, and I have to say I have not purchased many new sets recently as there has been few prequel era sets. I would buy DOZENS, without a doubt even though they are $15. With a new battlefront game, a new battlepack with clones would be a great idea. Particularly the Clone Wars/ Prequel era Republic style sets. I hope that as the LEGO Company reads this they consider these fans and our request. This set brings great nostalgia to the clone wars and I believe is a window to success for LEGO, and more happy fans. I believe I speak for millions of fans through my encounters on my YouTube channel, LEGO Blog sites, and buying and selling with LEGO online. This set is certainly one for the collection and recommend this to any army builders, collectors, and any children who want a great set to play with! Here is for the LEGO Company to consider, and what fans want. This set utilizes an episode 3 era style of the mini-figures which is great. All around though this is one of the best sets I have seen in the past few years from the Star Wars theme. The only downside is it was hard to open the canopy and reach my hand in to put the minifigure in and pull him out. There are no spring missiles which I feel was a good idea to leave out on a set this scale. The set has a few functions such as the rotating blasters, and stud shooters that look better than expected on the side. Although I am just a collector, I don't think this takes away from the play ability for younger children at all. The set itself lacks in de tails compared to that of the original, however due to the more accurate size and scale to that of the in universe tank, there was no possible way some of the extra details could have fit. The build itself is quite easy, but very fun and very relaxing. I have to say, upon building this set there were a few surprises, some good and some bad.
